Well we are now halfway through the season.
Purdue realized that 9-33 is terrible even for them and fired their head coach. I hear Brady Hoke is looking to get back into the Big Ten… Rutgers has given up and started cheering for the opponent in hopes of gaining some type of Big Ten acceptance. Indiana’s defense is better than their offense?!? and looks less like TeamChaos and more like TeamActuallyNotBadExceptForWak eForestButComeOnStateNebraskaA ndOhioStateBackToBackToBack? (TM). Nebraska is probably solid but hasn’t played anybody (good luck with Wisc and OSU weeks 9 and 10). Wisconsin looks like they’re borderline elite after back to back close games with Michigan (at least score wise) and Ohio State (Overtime). They’re Ranked 10 in the country… and tied for last place in the Big Ten West Division (the bad one)… with Purdue… and Illinois… Still, they will likely have a shot at what is essentially the division championship in two weeks against Nebraska. Nebraska is undefeated but plays OSU next week. There could be 1 or 2 other teams (that are not good) with only 2 losses (because they played teams that are also not good) so this division could get interesting. In the East, All signs point to a 2006 rematch* to decide that division (and likely who gets a rematch against Wisconsin for the Big Ten Championship). A really bad year for one team and the fact that… well Rutgers… really balanced out the East and West divisions this year. Anyways, here are the results. 3 people left! We could have our first repeat champion! Just kidding… Kelly and I are cheating so that we win eachothers’ BTE.
*The plus side of not having a star QB is that we don’t have to rely on him hoping his numb 99% cortisone arm is doing what he tells it to. Instead we can rely on 1 of 4 other QBs with arms that they can still feel! Just kidding… If Speight goes down (or just sucks) we’ll probably rely on Peppers to fake a hand off to Peppers and then throw it to Peppers.
Edit: Sorry, that was supposed to say Nebraska plays Ohio State the week after Wisconsin. I know you all follow my summaries and the integrity of these letters is very important to me…
Now everybody pick Purdue so I don’t have to talk to you anymore.
